The angel who gave up her wings

A year ago in heaven, St. Peter organized an emergency meeting with all baby angels.

St Peter: ‘I’m calling this urgent meeting to let you know that …’
St Peter: ‘A couple on earth is pleading ,again , for an angel to be their child.’
St Peter: ‘I’m looking for a volunteer who is willing to give up her wings’
St Peter: ‘They were asking for such for three years now, and this year they have passed with flying colors.’
St Peter: ‘I guess it’s now time to bless them’

Angel A : ‘But St Peter, we don’t have much baby angels left! ‘
Angel A : ‘The world has been asking too much and we have already assigned some angels to act as guardian angels’
St Peter : ‘This is urgent, as a special mission will be granted to this child!’
St Peter : ‘We need to find one!’

Angel B : ‘What special mission St Peter?’

St Peter : ‘You will know in time’
St Peter : ‘I made Father Fernando Suarez an instrument for this blessing.’
St Peter : ‘He will bless this child.’
St Peter : ‘Now , all I need is a volunteer!’
St Peter : ‘The task won’t be easy but you will surely be guided by our Almighty’

Angel C : ‘But St Peter, we had seen the world and all the cruelty, greed, corruption and deceit.’
Angel C : ‘We don’t want to be part of it. We love staying here.’

St Peter : ‘You must know that all of you will be going to the world one day and there are good things to be had on earth. We need somebody who is ready now.’

After a short lull moment an angel at the back of the crowd raised her hands.

Angel Yela : ‘St Peter, I would like to volunteer’

Everybody froze in silence.

St Peter : ‘And are you aware of the sacrifices you’ll have to undergo?’
Angel Yela : ‘I have thought of going to the world for quite sometime already and I guess it is time.’

St Peter paused and reflected for a few seconds.

St Peter : ‘Well then, let it be known that Angel Yela had accepted the task. Tomorrow you’ll be sent out to the world’
St Peter : ‘and today will be the last day that you will have your wings.’

And a year later she’s here !
